Manna Dey - The Legend Behind Indian Songs

Manna Dey is No More with Us, he left us on Wednesday Oct 23, 2013 with a lot of memory in our heart. Legendary singer Manna Dey 94 died at Narayana Hrudayalaya in east Banglore on Wednesday. Manna Dey was admitted to the hospital with chest infection and survived his daughters Suroma and Sumita. Indian film music lost the last of its singers. 
           
He was born in Kolkata in 1919 from parents Purna Chandra Dey and Mahamaya Dey. Manna Dey had sung in 14 laungages and more than 3,500 songs during his long carer and he is a Versatility singer who had established himself as one of the top playback singers in India. 

His famous lines are Ek Din Swapno ka Rahi, Chala Jaye Swapano Se Aage Kahan, zindagi kaisi yeh paheli hai.....kabhi to hasaye ..kabhi yeh rulaye. This is an irreparable loss. What a range he had, from pure classical "poocho na kaise maine ren bitayee" to " phulgendwa na maro"

God blessed him with sheer talent and perseverance. Over 3,500 songs in Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada and Assamese films is awesome. Also His contribution to Indian cinema was immense. 
Even Manna da has passed away..but his melodious voice will remain for ever in the hearts of lakhs and crores fans.
